Orange Walk

The Orange Walk marked GSK's major new commitment to Asia: a new global headquarters for Asia to help build talent and better support patients and consumers across the region.

Staff from GSK's four sites in Singapore were joined by CEO Sir Andrew Witty who flew into Singapore for a ground-breaking ceremony with the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Dr. Dr Beh Swan Jin, Chairman of the Economic Development Board. They were also joined by Abbas Hussain, President, Global Pharmaceuticals, GSK.

Before the ceremony, Sir Andrew completed the Orange Walk, crossing the finishing line with staff from Novartis with whom GSK recently completed a major three-part transaction.

As well as marking GSK's new commitment to Asia, the Orange Walk raised funds for local charity MINDS as part of its contribution to SG50.

Dressed in vibrant orange – the company's colour – staff also wore orange shoes that were especially commissioned for the event.  On completing the walk, the shoes were donated to Soles4Souls, an organisation providing shoes for those in need, to benefit the wider Asia region that will be served by the new HQ.
