GSK Singapore was awarded the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ (IChemE) top honour for Process Safety at its recent 2015 IChemE Singapore Awards.

The IChemE’s awards celebrate excellence and innovation in chemical engineering in the Republic.

As a national IChemE Awards winner, the GSK initiative will automatically be shortlisted for the IChemE Global Awards, which will take place in the UK on November 5.

GSK secured the award following a decision to invest in a continuous manufacturing operation at our global manufacturing site in Jurong.

The project was also shortlisted for a Sustainable Technology award.

The SGD38.5 million initiative focuses on enhancing the production of one of GSK’s key respiratory Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.

The project delivers a significant reduction in the number of process steps and improved safety performance, while maintaining high-quality production standards.
